Welcome to The Dublin Music Collective's website.The purpose of this website is to create an unofficial Musicians Union,designed to help artists network and achieve their full potential.
What we want to achieve is a musical enviroment where bands can prosper and receive more benefits and recognition for gigging etc.One of our first goals is to abolish the "Pay to Play" system that operates in many of Dublins music venues.This arcane system puts extreme pressure on groups to sell tickets and many bands are left out of pocket because of this!
Clubs already make enough money from bar sales and this comes across as plain greed on the part of venue owners/managers.
Its time to make a stand!If bands don't play in these venues,then the venues can't make profit and in turn,they will soon realise that they need us more than we need them!!!
